Our daily weather has been a little whacky lately, with temperatures ranging from warm to cold, to chilly-warm-cold within days, but I’m still feeling the winter spirit. What better way to warm up than with a yummy cup of hot cocoa with melting marshmallows.
I made this little piece last month using paint chips sharing chocolate/hot cocoa related paint names. I love re-purposing paint chips into small mixed media pieces. It’s fun and challenging, and it is always exciting for me to see how each little piece evolves. I have about a dozen paint chip themes saved up–but this warm and cozy theme took on a natural direction, inspired by our cold weather.
Paint chip names include: Hot Chocolate, Cup of Cocoa, Chocolate, Bittersweet Chocolate, Pink Chocolate, Decadent Brownie, Chocolate Chip, White Chocolate, Chocolate Turtle, Chocolate Mousse, Iced Chocolate, and Dark French Chocolate…
I think all the chocolate names created a craving as this piece sold during the weekend it showed. I’m very happy to think it found a good home with a fellow chocolate lover, yumm-a-licious!
